About Jim Gordon

Jim Gordon

Jim joins the Wine Enthusiast Online team with more than 20 years of professional wine journalism and tasting experience. Now the editor of America’s longest-running wine industry news publication, Wines & Vines, Jim began his career as a daily newspaper reporter. He began his wine education as an editor at the St. Helena Star in Napa Valley, then worked in New York and San Francisco for Wine Spectator, where he was managing editor for 12 years.
Gordon’s passion for wine, and his varied professional gigs, have taken him all over the West Coast and the globe—Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, Germany, Piedmont, Tuscany to name a few—in search of the world’s best wines. He has lived in Napa for the past six years, where he still finds time to get down in the dirt and make his own killer wine under the Gordone Cellars label.
